COVID Statement
Face paint is makeup. We use cosmetic grade disinfecting agents, and makeup contains antimicrobials. You can choose for us to paint an arm rather than a face if preferred. Even with added precautions, there is no way to avoid all risk of ANY viral transmission in face and body art - do so at your own risk.
Rates and Fees
Most face painting rates are between $125 and $150 per hour. One Artist can paint approximately 12 to 17 faces per hour depending on the intricacy of the designs that are chosen. Be sure to book your time accordingly to avoid leaving anyone out. PLEASE do not ask us to disappoint any guests due to lack of time booked. Sometimes we have an event booked right after yours and we may not be able to stay past stop time contracted here. If you exceed the time booked and we are available to stay, it will be charged in half hour increments. Client will pay for the time booked plus overrun, even if Client has delayed the time we start the actual painting. At no charge to you, we will need 15 minutes of setup and tear down time. Client must pay for a minimum of 1 hour even if Client uses Artists for less than 1 hour. Travel fees apply when the event is more than 35 minutes from Colorado Springs. Call for a quote. Parking fees must be paid to artist in advance with other payments.
Making Your Payment
When you complete our contract, you will indicate a cash, check, or credit card method. Credit Card: You may pay by credit card right on the booking contract form. Paying by credit card after this date must be arranged in advance. Cash: If you would like to pay by cash, please pay the artist early. You don’t want them bothering you when you are trying to enjoy your party, and they are trying to be on time for their next one. We do not carry change. Check: Should you choose check method, we will invoice you via email based on the information on the contract. Make check payable to Zanypaint. Please give the artist the check early. You don’t want them bothering you when you are trying to enjoy your party, and they are trying to be on time for their next one. Should a check be returned, there is a $30 returned check fee and all collection fees will be assessed to the Client.
Booking Contract
The completion of our booking contract is the only official way to hire us. Contacting us to confirm availability does not secure time on our calendars. The person completing the contract should be someone financially responsible. Double check the confirmation email you receive. We are not responsible for problems related to incorrectly completed forms.
Pay-Per-Face Arrangements
If you would like an arrangement where we charge your attendees and collect payments for each painting, this must be set up in advance. We must be prepared with cash/change and set up for electronic payments at the time of booking.
Cancellations / Rescheduling
Should you need to reschedule your event, please do so at least 7 days prior and we will make every effort to meet your needs. If you need to cancel the event, you must cancel 7 days (168 hours) of the event or you will have to pay the total contracted cost. *We do not offer refunds for inclement weather so please secure an alternate indoor location for your event in advance. Should our Artist get sick/ have to cancel, we will make every effort to find a replacement Artist, but can’t guarantee a replacement. Neither party shall be responsible for failure to perform this agreement if unanticipated circumstances beyond their control (including, but not limited to: acts of God: government regulations; terrorist attacks in the city in which the event in located; or declared war in the United States) make it illegal or impossible for the event to take place.
Safe Setup Minimum Requirements
Please provide a minimum of 4’ x 5’ space per artist and 15 minutes of setup (you do not pay for this time) and take down time is required. Please ensure that location has adequate lighting but we can bring lights if necessary - please let us know IN ADVANCE. Please provide access to bathroom facilities. If outdoor, you must provide us with STAKED AND WEIGHTED sun/wind/rain shelter. Our paints contain waxes and glycerin which if exposed to direct sunlight, can become unusable from melting. *WIND: If you have never set up a tent in Colorado wind, you are grossly underestimating damage and INJURIES you will be legally and financially responsible for by not properly securing your tent.* Stakes are usually not adequate - weights are necessary. If you are not able to remedy the sun/wind/rain exposure by moving to a sheltered or alternate indoor location, we are leaving without refunding payment. We love that you hired a band/DJ, but if we can’t hear your guests, or they can’t hear us it will massively slow us down. Please locate us away from speakers. Please locate us away from sprinklers, water inflatables, and flinging objects such as corn-hole beanbags or recreational ball games.
Weather
We paint rain or shine. For the comfort of your guests and our artists, the client agrees to provide an area with protection from extreme temperatures, sun, rain, snow and wind. Client is responsible to provide an alternate indoor location in the event of inclement weather, as there are no refunds for weather. If you are not able to remedy the sun/wind/rain exposure by moving to a sheltered or alternate indoor location, we are leaving without refunding payment.
Adverse Working Conditions
Artist has the right to cease painting and leave without refunding any monies if there are extreme adverse working conditions and the Client fails to remedy the situation after it has been brought to the Client’s attention. Adverse conditions included but not limited to: destructive, violent, or extreme inappropriate behavior of a child, pet or adult; illegal activities; or otherwise dangerous conditions. If you are not able to remedy the sun/wind/rain exposure by moving to a sheltered or alternate indoor location, we are leaving without refunding payment.
Parking
Please either leave a space open in front of the house on the street, the driveway, or a loading dock so Artist can unload equipment. The Client will reimburse Artists for any parking fees.
Artists
If you want a particular artist, you must specify at booking, but we have the right to substitute talent at any time due to scheduling, driving distances, and appropriate talent coordination between events.
Limitations On Subject Matter
If in public, artists will not paint on any part of the body that is not legal to expose or any place they do not feel comfortable painting. In addition, Artists will not paint subject matter they deem offensive or disturbing.
Participant Age
It is too dangerous to paint the faces of wiggling kids under 3 so we will paint something on the arm. The FDA does not test cosmetics on kids under 3 so our insurance won’t cover them. We will never participate in forcing a child to participate.
No Amateur Artist “Helpers”
We do not paint alongside volunteers, amateur “helpers”/students. This opens up our company to a multitude of liabilities and associates our company with poor quality work, questionable cosmetic products, and makes line management impossible.
Breaks
Artists will have paid breaks of 5-10 minutes every two hours and access to a rest room.
Ending The Line and “Just One More” Syndrome
Without exception, we will paint the last face at the stop time you entered on the contract. We will not paint “just one more” even if you were unable to start your event on time. We have events scheduled back-to-back and must plan for traffic. We are hired by the hour. While we have signage that reads, “Last face painted at ____”, it is ultimately your responsibility to communicate and reinforce your contracted end time. For large public events, we recommend you assign a volunteer to prevent people from getting in line who will not be painted.
Liability Statement
While we use ONLY FDA approved cosmetic grade face painting supplies, Artist is not liable for allergic reactions to paints. People with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either not participate, or have Artist perform a patch test at the beginning of the party. COVID Statement: Face paint is makeup. Even with added precautions, there is no way to avoid all risk of ANY viral transmission in face and body art - do so at your own risk. Client understands that darker face paints will linger and must be removed with mild soap, water and washcloth. For safety reasons, Artists will not paint children under 3 years old or anyone who is unwilling. Per insurance requirements, Artists will not paint anyone who is or appears to the Artist to be sick or suffering from cold sores, conjunctivitis, ringworm, sunburn, eczema, head lice, any infectious skin condition or open wounds. These determinations are at the Artist’s discretion. Artists will use reasonable care, but is not responsible for damage to clothing or property. The Client agrees to pay for all accidents, injuries, and damages to Artist equipment or supplies caused by improperly secured tents, equipment, pets, entertainment staff, lawn sprinklers, wind, weather events, or guests. Under no circumstances will Artists supervise children. Their behavior and safety is the Client’s and/or Parents’ responsibility.
